PM Imran Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping – Hot Today News

Beijing: PM Imran Khan met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing to discuss bilateral relations, regional status and the full range of bilateral interests.

In addition to attending the closing ceremony of Beijing 2019 International Horticultural Exhibition, the PM Imran Khan, who is on a two-day visit to Beijing, will also meet with the Chairman of the National People's Congress today.

The day before, Prime Minister Imran held bilateral talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Purpose of Meeting

The meeting was primarily focused on strengthening bilateral economic partnerships. During the meeting, both agreed to strengthen Pakistan and China social-economic relations, signing a number of agreements and a Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).

The official press release said Chinese Prime Minister's message “their core national interest is to support Pakistan’s in resolving their issues”.

Prime Minister Imran emphasized that the rapid completion of projects in China's economic corridor in Pakistan is his government's most prominent priority.

He argued that the second phase of the CPEC would help strengthen and consolidate Pakistan's economic development and pave the way for improved Chinese investment in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Lee has also been questioned about recent actions for CPEC rapid projects and to push the development momentum in Gwadar.
