The Ram Mandir and the Muslims of Uttar Pradesh

According to Indian media and the government, January 22, 2024, was a historic day because, in the eyes of Hindus, the long wait was over and the temple dedicated to Lord Rama was completed at the site of Babri Masjid. Additionally, Hindu scripters and religious scholars claim that this location is where Lord Rama was born, according to the religious books of Geeta and the Ramayana.

However, following the demolition of the Babri Mosque in the early 1990s and the legal battle between Hindus and Muslims in the Allahabad High Court and the Indian Supreme Court, the ruling favoured Hindus, and Muslims suffered a significant setback from the Indian legal system. On the other hand, Muslims in the province of Uttar Pradesh are not pleased at all with the construction of a temple at the site of the Babri Mosque.

Many national and international sources claim that since Narinder Modi became prime minister of the Republic of India in 2014, there has been a planned campaign supported by the government against Muslims in India, particularly in the state of Uttar Pradesh and the city of Ayodhya.

Being a Muslim poses a threat to Muslims in 21st-century India because of their faith. Every day, right-wing Hindu mobs lynch Muslim citizens in all of Uttar Pradesh province, and no state law enforcement agency has ever intervened to stop them.

Above all, right-wing politics is essential to winning elections in India these days because, during the past ten years, the BJP Government has fully enforced the racist and extremist ideology of R.S.S., which poses a serious threat to India's secular face.
